- Age 23
- Joined team in July, 2022
Anya Louw made her debut as a professional cyclist for AG Insurance - Soudal Quick-Step in the summer of 2022. She was immediately allowed to put her talent in the spotlight in the Tour de Frances Femmes.
Until July 2022, Anya was part of ARA Women Pro Racing Sunshine Coast Team, where she was under contract since 2020.
Anya's passion for cycling started at the age of ten at the track. The competitive nature of cycling immediately won her heart. After cycling on the track for several years, she noticed that she had more talent for road cycling and therefore shifted her focus. In addition, the team aspect on the road and achieving team victories appeals to her enormously.
She combines her love for cycling with her university studies in Nutrition and Dietetics which will certainly come in handy later on, in her cycling career. Despite the distance between Australia and the many cycling races in Europe, she is able to combine these studies perfectly by following the lessons online.
Anya is still developing and discovering herself in cycling, which makes her and this team an ideal match. Although she is still discovering her specialization, she has noticed that steep climbs and time trials fit her profile.
She obviously hopes to contribute to the team and help the other riders to win big races. Experiencing the unique feeling of achieving great results with the team as well as winning a professional cycling race herself is therefore her dream.
