Britt's Bio
Britt is a 22-year-old cyclist, born in Breda. However, she decided some time ago to change nationality, as she has lived in Belgium for years and she identifies herself more with the Belgian nationality. Britt was introduced to cycling by her family and soon found her way to racing. Both her mother and father were professional bike riders.
A few years ago, this unique development project within women's cycling was founded of which Britt has been a part from the start. For her, this development team was an excellent match to further develop herself in cycling, in order to grow to the professional level in the long term. Since 2020 she has proudly worn the AG Insurance - Soudal Quick-Step jersey. This will be her fourth year in the pro peloton and she has already gained a lot of experience in recent years. She reads the races very well and is a strong time trialist, which she showed with verve last year.
2022 was not only a great racing year for Britt, where she managed to achieve, among other things, a first place in the U23 and third place in the Elite at the Belgian time trial championship. She also managed to color 2022 by receiving her law degree from Tilburg University.
“I started cycling when I was twelve, after five years of gymnastics. What I love about cycling is the freedom and being outdoors. I am constantly exploring new avenues and getting the chance to discover my abilities and challenge myself in training and competitions.
I love to race. Not just to compete, but to really compete and get better. My dream is to get the most out of my talent, continue to enjoy what I do and hopefully win competitions that way. My dream race is – unsurprisingly – Paris-Roubaix.”
Britt's journey of discovery will continue in the coming year. Classics, time trials and stage races are on her radar anyway.
