Maaike's Bio

Maaike Boogaard, hailing from the northwest of the Netherlands, joined the vibrant peloton of AG Insurance - Soudal in 2023 with flair. She got on the bike at the tender age of 7, and this early start has led to a wealth of experience and an untamable passion for cycling. Her talent blossomed in the junior ranks and continued into her professional career, which began at BTC Ljubljana in 2017. There, Maaike quickly made a name for herself with impressive performances, including a memorable first professional win at the Omloop van Borsele in 2022.

As an all-rounder who excels in both classics and time trials, Maaike dreams of claiming a prestigious spring classic – with the Tour of Flanders as the ultimate goal. Off the races, pizza is her culinary weakness, and she finds motivation in the energizing beats of après-ski music.
