Luca Vierstraete claims the Belgian title at the National Track Cycling Championships.

17-year-old Luca Vierstraete of AG Insurance – Soudal Quick-Step, who is part of our U19 team, claimed the best result of her season by securing the top spot among the non-contracted elite riders, in the points race at the brand-new Heusden-Zolder velodrome, which was unveielled just two weeks ago.

Luca shared her experience after the race: "It was an incredibly thrilling race for me, my very first on the track and straight into the elite level. Just before the race began, I was feeling quite nervous, but I held my ground well in the scratch race. In the final two rounds, I went all in for the attack and in the end, despite being overtaken by a smaller group, I finished second among the non-professional riders."

"In the points race, I was able to consistently catch up and didn't lose a lap. I even won an intermediate sprint. This result made me incredibly happy, especially because it granted me the title among the non-professional elite riders."
